Obituary of Virginia Ashley Sorenson

Virginia Ashley Sorenson, age 91 of Wytheville, passed away June 7, 2017. She was daughter of the late William Howard Ashley & Gertrude Parsons Myers and was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Virginia was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Ashley; sisters, Arlene Topfer, Joan Huyek. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Sorenson of New York; son and daughter-in-law, Ken & Debbie Sorenson of Honolulu, HI; sister and brother-in-law, Marion & Paul Shannon of FL; brother and sister-in-law, William & Shirley Ashley of Wytheville; brother-in-law, Chuck Topfer of Ohio; grandchildren, Kristen Kelly, Elizabeth Caires, Kimberly Caires, Tai Niniko Sorenson.

Funeral service will be held 3 PM Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Colleen Montgomery with interment to follow in the St John’s Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Youth Group, 405 W. Main St., Wytheville, VA 24382.
