Obituary of Roy Garland Wingfield

Roy Garland Wingfield, age 90, of Rural Retreat, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018. He was the son of the late Roy & Mary Whiteacre Wingfield and a United States Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Wingfield, brothers, Holmes Wingfield, Norman Wingfield, Scott Wingfield, Ray G Wingfield, William Wingfield, Roland Wingfield and Harry Wingfield, sisters, Coreen Wingfield, Eunice Wingfield. Roy is survived by his wife, Linda Dell Wingfield; children and spouses, Ron C. & Brenda Wingfield, Patricia Dell & Brian Hoops, Jerry & Bonnie Wingfield, Allen & Roxane Wingfield, Susan Jogeva Wingfield, Mary Ann Flynn, Margaret Smith, Joe Wingfield; sister, Betty Wingfield; brothers, Robert Wingfield, Phillp Wingfield; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday March 8, 2018 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by The Reverend Gary Houseman. A graveside service will be held 1 P.M Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Southwest Virginia Veteran Cemetery, Dublin VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
