Russell W. Viars age 51 of Rural Retreat, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Wayne Viars and Paternal grandparents, Harold and Thelma Viars; Maternal grandparents, Edwin and Lillian Doss.

Survivors include his mother, Ella Jean Viars of Rural Retreat; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy Viars Daniel Fondren; brother Michael Viars; Nieces and nephew, Dawson, Kaitlyn Vaughan and Isabelle Fondren; great niece, Beverly Vaughan.

Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Grubb Funeral Home with Pastor David Osbourne officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Mt Zion Cemetery in Piney.
