
Obituary of Janie Dillon
Janie Dillon of Max Meadows, Virginia, passed away at the age of 69 on January 28, 2025, in Dublin, Virginia. Born on January 21, 1956, Janie dedicated much of her life to serving others in various capacities.
Janie served in the United States Air Force from 1984 to 1990, where she committed herself to her duties with distinction. After her military service, she continued her career in healthcare, as a registered nurse. A role in which she was deeply committed and caring, always putting the needs of her patients first.
She was a proud alumna of Radford University, where she completed her higher education, which paved the way for her nursing career. Janie also had a passion for history and genealogy, volunteering her time at the Wythe County Genealogical and Historical Association. Her contributions to researching and preserving local history were valued by all who worked alongside her.
Janie was preceded in death by her father, Charles Dillon, her mother, Mary Miller Dillon, and her sister, Sharon Ann Dillon. She is survived by her niece, Elissa Moore (James); nephew, Darren Junta; grandniece, Christine Junta; grandnephew, David Moore (Kristen); and great-grandnieces, Adalyn and Blakely Moore.
Janie's life was marked by her dedication to service, whether in uniform, in the healthcare field, or her community. Her legacy of caring and commitment to helping others will be remembered by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held 11 A.M Friday, February 14, 2025, at West End Cemetery conducted by Pastor Jonathan Hamman. The American Legion Post #9 will conduct Military graveside rites. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.grubbfuneralhome.com
