Mary Elizabeth Mills Porter, age 80, of Ivanhoe, passed away on February 8, 2025. She was born on April 27, 1944 to the late James Thomas and Josephine Elizabeth Thorton Mills. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Lee Mills. She loved serving her community for over 20 years by owning and operating her flower shop “Flowers by Mary” in Fort Chiswell.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Eddie Porter of Ivanhoe; two daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and James Holbrook; Sharon McQuerry; stepson and wife, Robbie and Debbie King; two sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Reynolds; Shirley and Lance Hunt; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Teresa Mills; Ronnie Mills and Nancy Spraker; sister-in-law, Paula Sheffey; three grandchildren and spouse, Eric and Amanda Hudgins, Brandon Palmer and Jessica Boyd; step grandson, Josh King; three great-grandchildren, Dawson Hudgins, Gabby Runyon Gordon (Tyler), and Brandon Blair (Jasmine); four great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held 6 P.M. Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Frye officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. The family will have a private Inurnment at the Davis Cemetery.
