Obituary of Nelson Elwood "Woody" Milgrim

Let us celebrate the going home of Nelson Elwood Milgrim, known to most as “Woody” age 84 of Wytheville, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his home. He was the son of the late Benjamin and Trudie Largen Milgrim. Woody served in the U S Army at a very young age. He owned and operated Woody’s Service Station for many years. He was very outgoing and those who knew him loved him. He loved always joking with others. He had a great love for hunting and fishing. Woody was a simple man and lived life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Milgrim, and Rush Milgrim; five sisters, Gertude Repass, Christine Fischetti, Margie Riggins, Alice King, Violet Romanosky. Woody is survived by his wife Rose Milgrim; the mother of his two children Thelma Milgrim, son, Darell Elwood Milgrim and Carla; daughter, Sherri Milgrim Repass and Terry; one granddaughter, Tara Repass Richards and Scott; two grandsons, Benjamin Hunter Milgrim and Courtney, Grant Walker and Lauren; two great grandchildren, Brynlee Milgrim and Easton Milgrim; Brother-in-law, James “Peany” Pauley and Sherry; many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Reverend Don Scott along with the American Legion Post #9 conducting Military Rites. The family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home Saturday from 12 noon until service time.
