
Obituary of Joseph Newton "Joe" Williams
Joseph Newton “Joe” Williams, age 88, of North Ridgeville since 1953, formally of Wytheville, VA went home to be with the Lord February 13, 2025. He was born on September 25, 1936, to the late James Ernest & Janie Dix Williams. Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, Lou, and John Williams; three sisters, Katherine “Sis” Williams Callahan, Janie Harmon and Bertha Underwood. Joe served in the United States Army from 1961 thru 1966. He was a member of Fields Methodist Church in North Ridgeville, OH, Amvets 32 of Elyria, OH. He worked at Gibb’s Meat Packing House, Tobin’s Mfg. and Willoway Nursery, before retiring in 2000. Joe enjoyed family and friends, gatherings, gardening, farming, reading and being a good neighbor.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean Gaydash Williams; son and daughter-in-law, David Joseph and Rene’ Voelzow-Williams; 2 brothers and sisters in-law, Jim and Janie Williams of Wytheville VA, George and Mary Ann Williams of Rural Retreat VA, 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Ruby Tickle of Draper VA, Edna and Ricky Parks of Wytheville, VA. 3 sisters in-laws, Agnes Williams, Dollie Williams, of Wytheville, VA, and Roberta Gaydash of North Ridgeville, OH, brother-in-law Danny Underwood of Draper, Va. Grandchildren, Emily Jean and husband Caleb Thomas of Lagrange, OH, and Jacklyn Williams of Elyria, Ohio. Great grandchildren, Lucas and Sophia Thomas, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Visitation Friday February 21,2025 from 4 to 8 pm at Bogner Funeral Home. 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, OH. Services on Saturday February 22, 2025 at Fields United Methodist Church, 34077 Lorain Rd. North Ridgeville, OH from 10am until time of service at 11am.
