Obituary of Martha Faulkner Shewey Harper

Martha Faulkner Shewey Harper, age 91, of Bland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 8, 2025. She was born in Bland County on June 7, 1933 to the late Luther and Clara Conner Faulkner. She was preceded in death by her son, Luther George Shewey; brothers, Walter, Wade and Earl C. Faulkner; sisters, Mary Trump and Nancy Parks. Martha was a long-time member of the Bland Community Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, William Thomas and Helen Shewey of Bland; brother and sister-in-law, C.L. and Brenda Faulkner of Pulaski; five grandchildren, Sherri and Randy Dillow; Kathy Shewey; Laytrayle Tyeryar; Megan Cox; Kellan Shewey; 8 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; special nephew, James Trump; special friend, Bill Waters; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7 P.M. Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Bland Community Church with Pastor Tom Maurer and Pastor Leroy Long officiating. A graveside will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Morning Star Cemetery in Bland. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. on Monday at the Bland Community Church or at Thomas’s home at anytime.
