Obituary of Roger Leon Rutherford

Roger Leon Rutherford age 79, of Rural Retreat, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. He was born in Grayson County on March 5, 1946 to the late Bayne Leon and Ruby Dale Williams Rutherford. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Marie Dunford. Survivors include his wife Phyllis Ann Rosenbaum Rutherford of Rural Retreat; two grandchildren, Samantha Allison (Damon) of Wytheville; Timothy Melvin, Jr. of Wytheville; two great grandchildren, Ellianya Dunford and Waylon Allison; two sisters and brother-in-law, Sharon Ann Brown of Independence; Janice and Jay Osbourne of Elk Creek; one brother Rick Rutherford of NC. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Graham and Pastor Austin Cook officiating.
