Per his wishes no Funeral services will be held. Family and friends will gather at his home on a later date to celebrate the Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend to many that he is. He was born in Rural Retreat, the son of the late Edgar R Vaught and Ina Lindamood Vaught. At the age of eight the family moved to Wytheville. He was a graduate of George Wythe High School. He worked/owner of Hobert N. Grubb for a total of 44 years. He had a personal relationship with Jesus and was a member of West End Methodist Church. He and Edna chose to spend their retirement helping raise all five grandsons. All five grandsons were very active in sports and not many games were missed by their greatest fans. He made a world of friends maintaining appliances, wiring homes and installing sources of heating in many Wythe and Bland County homes. When he was not working, he was out riding one of his tractors on not only his property but his sons. He was his son’s best friend. He would in fact give the “shirt off his back” for his family and friends. The family cannot thank Amanda Kitts of Senior Home Share, Pam Kline and Heather Kapranos of Hospice of SWVA, Dr. Chad Williams and staff and WCCH for all they did for Tommy. The family will receive friends at his home in Granite Acres. They request a phone call before arrival. Memorial donations can be made to The Millwald Theater as Tommy was proud of his hometown Main Street. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.grubbfuneralhome.com Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
