James (Jimmy) Wayne McHone Obituary

James (Jimmy) Wayne McHone, age 56, closed his eyes here on earth and awoke in the arms of Jesus on Friday May 16, 2025.


Jimmy was born on October 7, 1968, to Billy and Linda McHone of Max Meadows and Linda and Tony Jonas of Austinville. Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister Angie McHone Nipper.


Jimmy was a proud husband, father, brother and friend. Jimmy’s beloved wife Missy of 38 years was his entire world and the love of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman. Jim loved to detect metal, hunt, find artifacts and loved his music. He also loved collecting old marbles. Jimmy was a man of few words and loved his family fiercely. Jimmy’s grandchildren were the light of his life, and they shared numerous inside jokes. Jimmy’s faith in the Lord was the center of his life and now he can fight In Gods army. His generous heart and love for the Lord were two of his most defining traits.


Survived by Parents: Billy & Linda McHone of Max Meadows, Tony and Linda Jonas of Austinville, His wife Melissa “Missy” McHone; daughters & sons-in-law; Sasha & Brandon Duncan, Kendra & Donny Anderson and Morgan & Tyler Harless, brother & sister-in-law; Danny & Cynthia McHone, stepsisters; Toni Jo Caldwell, Amanda Shelton, stepbrother, Tommy Jonas. His beloved grandchildren; Zack, Zoey & Haylee Duncan, Bryleigh, Braelyn, June, Gabby and Colten Anderson, Zadiee Harless. Special mother-in-law, Nancy Hall; sister-in-law, Patricia Grubb. Special friends throughout Jim’s life, Chris Reeves, Wayne Lovingood, Bill Martin, Jake Arnold, Ben Tidwell, Tommy Dinger, Eddie Keen and Fred Bullion. Jim was so loved by everyone. Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral service will be held 4 P.M. Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church conducted by Reverend Mike Ingo and Reverend Ben Tidwell, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 P.M. until service time. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.grubbfuneralhome.com
