Obituary of John Steveadore Fox

John Steveadore Fox, age 83, of Wytheville, passed away Saturday June 7, 2025. He was born at home in Gatewood West Virginia on May 13, 1942, the son of the late Hilbert and Helen Marie Forren Fox. John started to work at age 9 at Riner Dairy Farm. He never stopped working. He graduated from Fayetteville High School and Concord Collage. He taught school for a brief period and was a school counselor for several years and then opened his Oldsmobile GMC Nissan dealership in Wytheville, VA. He owned this dealership for many years and was a long-time farmer and was a great man, generous to a fault. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda L. Fox, sister Carol A. Fox, daughter, Sharon Kae Fox, grandson, Heath Nelson. John is survived by a son, John Steveadore Fox, II and Alyssa Mallette of Wytheville, daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Norman White of Wytheville, Donna and Shane Carroll of Wytheville, Samantha and Corbin Osborne of Chilhowie; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Klingler of Ohio, Sandra and Tom Boardwine of Powhatan, VA, Debbie Stone of Richmond; grandchildren, Saint Steven Fox of Wytheville, Brent and Sarah Rigney of Florida, Dylan White of Wytheville, Brittany and Glen Coats of Fredericksburg, Seth White of Wytheville; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Friday June 13, 2025, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 P.M. until service time.
