Betty Elaine Horne, 63, of Tazewell, passed away on June 28, 2025. She was born in Maryland on May 14, 1962 to the late George W. and Helen Shepard Horne. Betty was a 1980 graduate of Tazewell High School where she also attended the Vocational School and received her LPN. She worked as an LPN in Northern Virginia, in both hospital and nursing care settings while also working part-time at the Flower Gallery. For a period of time, Betty worked as the on-site nurse at the Church of God Home for the children in Sevierville, TN. After 30 years of nursing, she retired to take care of our mother and become a licensed Church of God Minister pastoring at Dante Church of God. During her free time, she enjoyed volunteering at the Labor of Love Mission, but her favorite job of all was being aunt, Boon and chauffeurs to her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Mark Horne and a sister-in-law, Susan Horne.

Survivors include her two sisters, Brenda (Jim) Witten and Lora (Cam) Whitt; brother, George (Nancy) Horne; nieces and nephews, Sam (Kristy) Witten, Ashley (Zack) Whitt, Olivia (Mike) Gollehon, Melissa (Jeremy) Tibbs and Gabe Whitt; great nieces and nephews, Zachary (Sasha) Fox, Kaleb (Laurie) Toppins, Lexie Whitt, Jessica Gollehon, Jenna (Hunter) Ward, Makayla (J.T. ) Thompson, Austin Fox, Bo Witten, Preston Gollehon, Taylor Whitt, Isabella Tibbs and Katie Tibbs; great-great nieces, Paisley and Avery Toppins; three aunts and many cousins and friends.
