Eldon Ray Wilson of Wytheville, Va. passed away on July 15, 2025, at Lewis Gale Hospital. Eldon was born on November 5, 1946, in Galax, Va. to the late Raymond Leslie Wilson & Mary Carico Wilson “Edith”. Proceeded in death by his son Brian Eldon Wilson. Eldon proudly served in the United States AirForce during August 15, 1966 -November 30, 1986, achieving the rank of MSG E-7. During his enlistment he received numerous medals, ribbons and commendations. Eldon was a dedicated and valued member of the military community.
Eldon, the oldest of three, was a devoted son, brother and father who will be remembered for his dedication to his family.
He is survived by children April Wilson Mayes (Donald) Joe Wilson (Connie), siblings, Michael Wilson, Cathy Wilson Jennings, grand children Ashlee McDonald (Conor), Eric Wilson, Amber Hash (Kevin), daughter-in-law Carol Wilson, great grand children Charlee McDonald, Oliver McDonald, Amelia Hash, Willow McDonald and Isaac Eldon Ray Hash (due January 2, 2026) niece, Caitlyn Wilson, great niece, Ophelia Wilson.
A graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery, Dublin, VA, conducted by Reverend Dennis Martin. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.grubbfuneralhome.com
