Calvin Denny Dowell, Sr., born July 19, 1950, passed away July 31, 2025, in his home surrounded by family, including his two sons and youngest daughter. He was preceded in death by his father Denny Albert Dowell, mother Eliza Sizemore, brothers Lee Combs and Cecil Dowell, sister Shirley Graham, and son-in-law Roy Lankford.

He is survived by a brother Bob Dowell, daughter MaKayla Cook and son-in-law William Cook, son John Dowell and significant other Amber Cregger, son Calvin Dowell, Jr. and daughter-in-law Christine Dowell, daughter-in-law Kristina King, ride or die grandson Preston “Little Buddy” Cook, 11 grandsons and 9 granddaughters, two great grandchildren and a daughter Lesley Lankford.
