Raymond Walter "Ray" Hall Obituary

Raymond Walter Hall age 80, of Wytheville, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1945 to the late Reggie Hall and Florence Vaughan Hall Phillippi. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Ray was a Member of the Rosenbaum Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as a Deacon, Board Member and Sunday School Teacher. Being a child of God was always first in his life. He was very dedicated and humble person who loved everybody. Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman that loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by a sisters, Wanda Grubb and Mertlie Hall and a brother James R. Hall.


Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Patty Umberger Hall of Wytheville; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Pete Cox of Galax; two grandchildren, Will Bane of Wytheville; Taylor Bane of Galax; one great grandchild, Adaline Bane of Galax; and several nieces and nephews; very special neighbors, Philip MacAdams, Tony McAllister and Teresa Crockett; his fur baby, Daisy.


Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, August 25, 2025 at the Rosenbaum Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Joseph Hollins, Jr. and Reverend Don Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Rosenbaum Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund C/O Joyce Stroupe 805 Stroupe Mtn. Road, Wytheville VA 24382 or Davis and McDaniel Veterans Care Center – 4550 Shenandoah Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24017.
