Reed Culden Fisher, age 94, of the Piney Community, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
He was born in Wythe County on August 23, 1931, to the late James Walter Fisher and Catherine Shipwash Fisher. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mabel Harmon Fisher. Brothers Joe Fisher, Ray Fisher, Jack Fisher, and Winfred Fisher; five sisters- Beatrice Porter, Florence Wright, Lucille Grubb, Mary Allene Gallimore, June Martin, and Mona Jeanette Fisher; Stepsister, Ismay Ann Akers.
On board the USS Greenwood, he served in the Navy from January 1951 to October 1954. He has been a VFW member since 1962. He was a faithful member of Liberty Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as a Deacon on the church board for 38 years, a Sunday School teacher for 62 years, a Sunday School Superintendent, and a church Trustee.
Survivors include his brother Walter Fisher Sr. and Betty of Max Meadows, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 7 P.M. Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Liberty Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Josh Graham, Lewis Arnold, and Mike Akers officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until service time at the church. Graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
