Ms. Halley Mulkey of Bland Virginia passed away Wednesday October 1st, 2025. She was born on June 28th, 1931, in Speedwell Virginia to the late Edgar “Ed” Mulkey and Maude Martin Mulkey and was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Jo Mulkey, and Shirly “Scrappy Delp; brothers, Fred J. Mulkey, Bil Mulkey, and Johnny Mulkey. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Halley was a woman ahead of her time in many aspects. She was a traveling businesswoman and worked for many well-known Department stores at the beginning of her career. She was also a master crafter. You could always find her in her chair crocheting a new creation or writing a new cookbook from her many travels. Ms. Halley was a lover of all people and an excellent care giver to many. She also had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. When you went to visit, she would never disappoint when it came to telling stories about her upbringing and her siblings. Ms. Halley and her sister Margret Jo put roots down in Bland Va in 1999 after moving from Richmond and she resided there until her passing. Ms. Halley was a friend and neighbor like no other and mother figure to others. She will be missed dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Reverend Amanda Phillips. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 P.M. until service time. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.grubbfuneralhome.com
