David Wayne Shockley, age 81, of Max Meadows passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at Wythe County Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Bruce and Mary Virginia Shockley; wife, Lola Audrey Shockley; 3 brothers, Edward Lee Shockley, Benny Gene Shockley and William Bruce Shockley; sister, Doris Ann Hounshell.

Those left to cherish all of the wonderful memories of the people listed above is one sister, Linda Susan Steffey of Wytheville; nephew, Sammy Steffey and wife Elizabeth; great-nephew, Dylan Todd Steffey and girlfriend Allyson Wright; sister-in-law, Carol Shockley; nieces and nephews, Micheal, Emma, David, and Beverly, Kathy Roberts and husband Gary, Karen Umberger and husband Chet, great-niece, Sara Cregger and her husband Justin, nephew, Mike Hounshell and wife Dana; great-nephew, Ethan Hounshell; great-great-nephews, Jeb Cregger and Gatlin Cregger; many more nieces and nephews also survive.
