Nina Sage Blessing age 96, of Wytheville, passed away on Friday October 31, 2025. She was born in Groseclose, VA on November 14, 1928 to the late Earnest Freel and Geneva Kate Horne Sage. Nina was a lifelong farmer and a Member of the New Bethel Community Church for over 75 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 53 years Frank William Blessing; one grandson and one great granddaughter; five siblings, Junior Sage, Lorina Hackler, Lois Robinson, Clara Hodge and Maude Clyburn; son-in-law, Gilbert “Tinker” Jones.

Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and William K. “Buddy” Smith of Rural Retreat; Donna B. and Don Catron of Smith Mountain Lake; Doris Jones of Wytheville; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie “Wormy” and Drema Blessing of Wytheville; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; sister, Lauretta and June Smith of Rural Retreat; brother, Porter Sage of Rural Retreat; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, November 3, 2025 at the New Bethel Community Church with Pastor Stephen Cornett and Dave Blessing officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church on Monday.
