Charles "Lee" Lovingood, Jr. Obituary

Charles “Lee” Lovingood, Jr., born July 3, 1964, at Radford Hospital and raised in Fort Chiswell, Virginia, passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 61.

Lee built a career as a radio announcer, working in several markets and making his voice known in Blacksburg and Gloucester, Virginia; Melbourne, Florida; and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He was known for his wicked wit, quick intelligence, and an ability to connect with people both on and off the air.

Lee had a deep love for music, books, and the arts in general. As a musician himself, he found meaning and expression through sound, creativity, and ideas, passions that shaped both his personal life and his work in broadcasting.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Lee had a strong aptitude for technology. He earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science and was widely recognized for his knack with computers and problem-solving.

Lee is survived by his son, Logan Hunter Lovingood, and his daughter, Campbell Elizabeth Lovingood, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and Pat Lovingood; his brother, Wayne Lovingood; and his sister, Kim Vogler, as well as nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.

A service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.grubbfuneralhome.com
