Lois Felty Martin Seagle Obituary

Lois Felty Martin Seagle passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, after a 12-year journey with memory loss. She was born in Wytheville VA on January 19, 1934, to the late Martin Luther Felty and Bessie Alice Davis Felty. Lois was married to Jacob Lee “Tom” Martin and later married William Fox “Bill” Seagle. Lois remained in Wytheville until 2019 when she moved to High Point, NC to be closer to her family. She resided in a memory care facility for the last 5 years of her life. Lois was a favorite of her care givers and was liked for her spunk and keen sense of humor.


She had one sister Mary Ellen Canipe that preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Melissa Martin Cole of High Point, NC. She is also survived by her stepdaughters Pattie Martin and Bonnie Groseclose both of Wytheville, VA. Her granddaughter Chandler Cole (Marc Charlillo), her great grandson Wyatt Honeycutt and great granddaughter Genevieve Charlillo of High Point; nephew Greg Canipe (Jody Gibson) of Wytheville, VA.


Lois was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a member of the Wytheville Presbyterian Church, where she was active over the years. Lois worked for many years in clothing factories. She worked at the Daycare at the Malin Hospital and the last 15 years she was worked part time at Smokey’s Barbeque where she was affectionately known as “Granny”.


Lois loved flowers and kept a picturesque yard. She was a crafter and an avid jigsaw puzzle worker. Lois was a great cook and enjoyed hosting family on holidays. She was a dog lover and had several special dogs over the years.


Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by John DiYorio with interment to follow in the Fairview Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 6 to 8 pm at Grubb Funeral Home.
