William Alton Williams age 85, of Wytheville, passed away on Sunday January 25, 2026. Alton was born in Wytheville on August 7, 1940 to the late William Theron and Ollie Mae Gillman Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Horton Williams and five siblings Garnett Williams, Mildred Burchett, Harold Williams, Coeburn Willliams and Elenor Bonham. Alton was a lifelong member of Jackson Chapel Church of God of Prophecy in Wytheville. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army.

Survivors include his two sons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Brittany Williams of Fort Chiswell; Tim Williams of Wytheville; seven grandchildren, Scout Williams, Cheyenne Williams, Ruger Williams, Cherokee Williams, Elijah Williams, Grace Williams and Noah Williams; a lifelong special friend, Charles “Tinker” Walters of Wytheville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 6 P.M. Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 P.M. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will be private at West End Cemetery.
