James Robert “Jimmy” Bass age 65 of Rural Retreat, passed away on April 6, 2026. Jimmy was born in Virginia to the late Robert Pierce and Edna Lee Waddell Bass. He was preceded in death by his brother Mike Bass.

Survivors include his life partner of over 10 years, Amber Philips of Rural Retreat; special family Amber’s children and grandchildren; “Jimmy’s” siblings, Guy Bass of Fredericksburg, VA; David Bass of Rural Retreat; Robin Frierson of Florences, SC; Mark and Brandi Bass of Wytheville; and a special niece and nephew.
