Nancy McGavock Davis of Max Meadows, Va., passed away April 17, 2026, at age 92. She was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Lynchburg and was the daughter of Hugh Kent McGavock and Virginia Crockett McGavock of Lynchburg. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph E. Davis, Jr. of Max Meadows.

She is survived by her sons Joseph E. Davis, III and David M. Davis of Max Meadows and 1 grandson Billy (Amy) and 2 great grandchildren Jonathan and Dominic. She is also survived by her brother Hugh K.S. McGavock and daughter Sharon of Troutville and special cousins Julie and Janet.

She was a member of Anchor of Hope Presbyterian Church in Max Meadows where a memorial service is planned for 5:00 on Saturday April 25 with visitation 1 hour before the service at the church. Burial is private before the service in the McGavock family cemetery. Her life was a demonstration of kindness and love. In lieu of flowers please make a gift to hospice or your favorite charity.
