Dennis F. O’Donnell, Jr., age 64 of Rural Retreat, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2026, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dennis was born in Syracuse, New York to Dennis F. O’Donnell, Sr. and Mary P. O’Donnell on January 20, 1962. After attending West Genesee High School, he enlisted into the United States Army. Prior to the onset of his illness, he was employed by Lazer Logistics in Wytheville, Virginia.

Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was an avid reader and enjoyed classical music. Dennis had fond memories of his childhood friends from growing up in the village of Camillus.

Dennis is survived by his two sons, Dennis F. O’Donnell III of Littleton, Colorado and Kevin O’Donnell of Burke, VA, two grandchildren, Loralai O’Donnell and Dennis F. O’Donnell IV, parents Dennis and Mary O’Donnell of Rural Retreat, and his four siblings: Kathleen (Kitty) Boylan (John) of Virginia Beach, VA, Bridget Owens (Paul) of Punta Gorda, FL, Patrick O’Donnell (Irene) of Syracuse, NY and Erin Balduzzi (Mike) of Syracuse, NY. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
