Timothy Douglas “Tim” Cline, age 86, passed away leaving behind a life defined by faith, family, service, hard work, and a great sense of humor.

Tim was a devoted husband to his wife, Barbara, and a loving father to their two sons, Keith and Ken Cline. Family was at the center of Tim’s life, and throughout the years, he made it a priority to be present for the people he loved.

Tim proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he worked around aircraft while stationed in the United States. Years later, he still enjoyed sharing stories from his time in the Navy, including memories of watching trainee pilots learning to fly.

Following his military service, Tim built a successful career in real estate and became a well-known Realtor in Newnan, Georgia. During his career, he established himself as one of the area’s prominent real estate professionals before eventually retiring. His entrepreneurial spirit also led him into other ventures over the years, including owning a restaurant.

For all of his professional accomplishments, Tim was perhaps proudest of his family. When Keith and Ken were growing up, Tim was an involved and dedicated father. He and Barbara were often the team parents at their sons’ sporting events, and Tim could frequently be found on the sidelines with a camera in hand, taking pictures and making sure he was there to support them.

That devotion continued as his family grew. As a granddaddy, Tim went above and beyond to spend time with each of his four grandchildren, Hope, Caleb, Joshua, and Seth. When they were young, that could mean sitting down together to play card games, teaching them how to play baseball, taking them out to eat, or simply finding a reason to spend time together. He took a genuine interest in their lives and made sure his grandchildren knew how much they meant to him.

Later in life, Tim remained closely involved with his sons and took great pride in watching them build families and businesses of their own. He was always willing to offer Keith and Ken advice, share what he had learned through his own experiences, and lend his perspective when it was needed.

Tim loved people and especially loved being around family and children. He was outgoing, stubborn when he wanted to be, and rarely passed up an opportunity to tell a story or make someone laugh. He was particularly fond of a good pun—or, perhaps more accurately, a wonderfully bad one. His jokes and stories became part of who he was, and those who knew him could usually count on hearing one.

A lifelong baseball fan, Tim especially loved the Atlanta Braves. He also believed in keeping his mind active and continued learning and keeping up with the changing world around him throughout his life.

Most importantly, Tim was a man of Christian faith. His belief in Christ was an important part of his life and remained with him throughout his 86 years. Even when Tim was in the hospital, he took the time to share Jesus with those around him.

Tim’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Barbara; He is survived by his sons, Keith and Ken Cline; his four grandchildren, Hope, Caleb, Joshua, and Seth; and his two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Atlas.

To his family, he was a husband, Dad, Granddaddy, and eventually a great-granddaddy. His stories will continue to be told, his lessons will continue to be passed down, and the love he had for his family will remain a part of them for generations to come."

The family will receive friends Monday, August 17, 2026, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M.
