Obituary of Marla Diane Akers
Marla Cox Akers, age 58, of Wytheville, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019. She was born on May 22, 1961 in Waterford, MI to the late Lloyd & Loretta Leeper Cox. Marla is survived by her mother, Loretta Jewel Cox; her husband of 36 years, Sparrel Akers, Jr. of Wytheville; daughters, Sondra Marie Booth, Briana Faith Wray and husband David; Samantha Nicole Akers; brother Darrell Cox; sister, Cheryl Worley; grandchildren, Katarina Booth, Cayden Booth, Marshall Pearson, Charleigh Pearson and Brayden Wray; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Saturday at Grubb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.grubbfuneralhome.com
