Obituary of Garrett Austin Cochran, Sr.

Garrett Austin Cochran, Sr., age 89, of Wytheville, Virginia passed away on January 22, 2021. He was born in War, West Virginia on June 13, 1931 to the late Powhatan Leftwich and Edna Alta Quesenberry Cochran. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Cochran Davis. Garrett was a Lifetime Member of the American Legion Post #9 and served in the United States Air Force. He was a Member of the Wytheville Golf Club and a Member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Garrett served Wythe County and the surrounding area as an Owner/Agent of State Farm Insurance for 47 years. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Paige Felty Cochran; daughter, Kim Cochran Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Autie and Teena Cochran; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Beth Cochran; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Respecting Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 200 Mount Pleasant Road, Wytheville VA 24382.
