Obituary of Malcolm Hayes Jackson
Malcolm Hayes Jackson age 83, of Wytheville, passed away on May 19, 2021. He was born in Wythe County on June 20, 1937 to the late Elbert M. and Blanche Bralley Jackson. Malcolm Graduated from George Wythe High School in 1955 and then served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post #9. He retired from Amsco with 37 years of service. Malcolm was a car enthusiast and enjoyed classic cars. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Jackson and seven siblings, William E. Jackson, Phyllis Jackson Umberger, Elbert “Zan” Jackson, Sidney Jackson Bolash, Sherman L. Jackson, Vivian Jackson, and Jacob Jackson. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia Havens Jackson of Wytheville; Sons and spouses, Malcolm Jackson, Jr. of Wytheville; David and Susan Havens of Vale, CO; foster son, Pete and Joanie Havens of Tobaccoville, NC; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Jackson, Savannah Havens and D. Jackson Havens; sister-in-law, Becky Jackson; brother-in-law, James Bolash; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 7 P.M. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Grubb Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard Lindamood officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held 1 P.M. on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at West End Cemetery with American Legion Post #9 will conduct Military rites.
