Obituary of Ronnie Duane Catron

Ronnie Duane Catron “affectionately known as Paw”, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 10, 2023. He was born in Wythe County on September 24, 1944 to the late Lawrence Early and Sally Isabell Smith Catron. He was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy Ann Cregger Catron; two sisters, Betty Spraker and Ruby Blankenship; three brothers-in-law, Douglas Grubb, Reginald Irvin and Grover Spraker. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Rhnea and Ken Langston of Rural Retreat; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Tammy Catron of Roanoke; Donald and Jeanine Catron of Fredericksburg; Tim and Dawn Catron of Clayton, NC; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and one on the way; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Patsye Irvin of Stevens City; Norma Grubb of Falls Church; Fleta Irvin of Wytheville; Vickie and Nathan Lokos of Sterling; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis “C.D.” and Deloria Catron of Hillsville; brother-in-law, Donald Blankenship of Fairfax; several adored nieces and nephews; and his beloved companion, “Little Bit”. The funeral service will be held 1 P.M. Friday, 18, 2023 at Berea Christian Church with Reverend Gary Houseman officiating. Interment will follow in the Berea Christian Church Cemetery Wytheville, VA. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1p.m. at the church.
