Obituary of Joseph Jerry Sheffey, Jr.

Joseph Jerry “Ms. Huck” Sheffey, Jr. age 72, of Wytheville, passed away on July 24, 2023. He was born in Wytheville on July 5, 1951 to the late Joseph Jerry, Sr., Catherine Hanley Sheffey. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Cathy Travis and Nancy Hash. He retired from Rohm Haas, the former Morton Powder in Wytheville. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kay Davis Sheffey; son, Joseph Jerry “J.J.” Sheffey, III; daughter, Samara Sheffey; granddaughter, Kylie Sheffey all of Wytheville; two brothers, Rick Sheffey of Wytheville; Chris Sheffey of Roanoke; brothers-in-law, John Davis and Sharone Davis; several nieces and nephews; special friend, George “Sweetie” Crockett. Memorial service will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Grubb Funeral Home with The Reverend Vanessa Baldwin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
