Obituary of Thomas Bentley Jackson

Thomas Bentley Jackson age 90, of Max Meadows, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born in Max Meadows on May 5, 1933 to the late Earnest Bentley and Ethel Francis “Sissy” Mabe Jackson. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Velma “Tiny” Jackson Kirby and Cleta Jackson Brown. Tom was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. After he got out of the military, he went on to further his education at Roanoke College of Business and became CEO of Bond Cote in Pulaski. Survivors include his wife of over 70 years, Georgia Lee Copenhaver Jackson of Max Meadows; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Rick Sheffey of Max Meadows; son Mike Jackson of Max Meadows; five grandchildren, Duston Thomas Jackson of Pismo Beach, CA; Stephen Michael Jackson of Wytheville; Kayla Audrey Jackson of Wytheville, VA; Shannon Dawnlynn Sheffey of Dallas, TX; Schelby Laura Sheffey of San Antonio, TX; nine great grandchildren; sister, Faye Jackson Poole of Moneta, VA; brother, Charles Earnest Jackson of Max Meadows; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7 P.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Ingo officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 P.M. at the West End Cemetery in Wytheville.
