Obituary of Rachie Whisman Guynn

Rachie “Tot” Whisman Guynn, age 103, of Wytheville, passed away Sunday October 1, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Harvey & Rachie Turner Whisman and preceded in death by her husband, James Ellis Guynn, Sr.; three sons, Floyd (Eddie) Guynn, Jerry Lee Guynn, James Ellis (Buddy Boy) Guynn, Jr.; granddaughter Stephanie Guynn, grandson, Douglas James Guynn. Rachie is survived by her son, Douglas Dean Guynn and Mary of Florence, SC; special sister and caregiver, Jettie (Sis) Whisman Taylor; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wiley “Pete” and Nora Whisman of New Jersey, Tom and Peggy Whisman of Dublin; grandson, William E. Guynn of West Virginia; granddaughters, Angie Guynn of New York, Missie & David Demory of Florence, SC, Dawn & Mark Fox of Maryland; 4 great grandchildren; special caregiver, Cindy Wilkinson of Wytheville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 P.M. until service time.
