Junior Ray Thompson, 85, of Wytheville passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He worked at Bob Huff Chevrolet for many years and retired from Volvo Trucking Co. in Dublin, VA after 20 years of employment. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Ronald Eugene Thompson, Danny Ray Thompson; special niece, Gayle Neugent; his parents, Dewey and Sylvia Thompson; 1 brother, Jimmy Thompson; 1 sister, Pauline Milgrim and 1 son-in-law, David Brewer, Sr. He is survived by his wife Betty Thompson. 2 daughters Patricia Brewer of Rural Retreat VA, Misty Gravely and son-in-law Kyle Gravely, 3 sons Billy Ray Thompson & Debbie Crigger of Austinville VA, Steven Thompson of the home, Bryan Thompson (Charlie) and wife Tanya Thompson of Wytheville. 12 grandchildren, Jason Wright & wife Ashley of Ft. Knox, KY, Derek Wright & wife Caitlyn of Rural Retreat VA, Caleb Thompson of Wytheville, Jessy Winesett & husband Kodi of Galax VA, Austin Dunford of Piney VA, Reed Dunford of Wytheville, Jordan Favara of Texas, Braydon Williams of Austinville, Amy Spencer of Wytheville and Steven Neugent of Rural Retreat VA, 2 Step-grandchildren, David Brewer, Jr. of Wytheville, Mandy Helton & husband Adam of Tennessee; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Juanita Wilson, Linda Durham, Betty Gallimore; 3 brothers, Gary Thompson, Richard Thompson, Robert Thompson.
