Joseph Earl Watkins age 73, born January 19, 1950, passed away on January 10, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Houston Watkins, Sr. & Helen Smith Watkins, sisters, Velva Thacker, Dorma Grubb, Mary Mcfarlin and Lilly Bell Getting, brother, Houston Watkins, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Allison, grandchildren, Cortney Jo Carter, Rodney Carter III & fiancé Chasilyn Clayburn, great grandson Rodney Dale Carter IV. brothers, James Watkins, Lee Roy Watkins, John David Cregger and Robert Lee Kading, one sister, Edna Sutrblin, and special friend, Brenda Martin. Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Reverend Jerry Bell, with interment to follow in the Speedwell Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 P.M. until service time.
