Charles Ernest Jackson Obituary

Charles Ernest Jackson, age 88, passed away February 8, 2024. Born and raised in Wythe County, Charles was the son of the late Ernest Bentley and Ethel Mabe Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Williams Jackson; sister, Velma “Tiny” Kirby, and Cleta Brown, one brother, Thomas Bentley Jackson.


Survivors include one sister, Faye “Cub” Poole of Moneta, VA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Charles loved his family. He was most proud of being a U.S. Army Veteran and a farmer.


A graveside service will be held 2 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Community Cemetery, 200 Mount Pleasant Rd, Wytheville, VA 24382, conducted by Reverend Hugh Matlack. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Anchor of Hope Presbyterian Church, 197 Max Meadows Road, P.O. Box 211, Max Meadows, VA 24360 or to Mount Pleasant Community Cemetery Fund, c/o Fonda Albert, 216 Queens Knob, Wytheville, VA 24382. The family wishes to thank the staff of Carrington Place at Wytheville and Wythe Hospice for their special and devoted care.
