Obituary of Thelma Madeline Callahan

Thelma Madeline Callahan “Alma” age 93 of Wytheville, Virginia went to be with her Savior on Thursday, May 30, 2024. She was born January 11, 1931, in Wytheville. Alma was employed by Jafree Shirt Factory for 35 years and retired after 15 years at Emerson Electric Company. Alma was a member of West End United Methodist Church for 56 years. She is preceded in death by her parents William Garlen Callahan and Thelma Chrisley Callahan, three brothers, Louis, Garlen and Wayne Callahan and two sisters Audrey Pike and Joyce Hackler. She is survived by two sisters, Vicki Callahan Eddy (Everett Eddy) of Roanoke, Virginia and Ruth Coe of Wytheville, and two sisters-in-law, Joan Hammond Callahan of Pulaski, Virginia and Patricia Fauber Callahan of Chicago, Illinois. Alma is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Natalie Drummond officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat, Virginia.
