Obituary of David Anthony Hoback

David Anthony Hoback, 57, passed away on November 24th, at his home in Wytheville, VA. He was preceded to heaven by his father, Charles Hoback, whom he was overjoyed to reunite with once more. He is survived by his mother, Nora Hoback, of Wytheville, his daughter and her husband, Krista and Corey Allen of Bluefield, his brother and wife Bill and Kathy Hoback of Wytheville, sister and her husband Melissa and Terry Harris of Wytheville, nieces Brittney Lambert, Karisa McKay, nephew Hunter Hoback, grandchildren Olivia and Mia Allen, beloved cousins, great nephew, great nieces, along with many dear friends. David was a deeply beloved son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and cherished friend. Although he suffered from cancer, his passing occurred quickly, surrounded by family and friends in his home, just like he wanted. We lost our most wonderful mentor and friend, and he will surely be missed by all those he touched with his humor, wit, and “fix it all” attitude he had toward life. He cherished his family and stood by this belief that family was what was truly important. He wanted what was best for everyone and had an uncanny ability to brighten the day of strangers through his conversations and ready smile. He loved history and had such an in-depth knowledge of the past and our founding. He also had great faith and shared his desire to have everyone understand the love of the Lord. He often spoke of his daily prayers for everyone in his life and the prayers he lifted up for our country. He loved conversations of politics and his love for America and what it meant to be an American. Even though we no longer have him by our side, his legacy will continue on with him always in our thoughts and in our hearts. A memorial service will be held 6 P.M. Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Reverend Aubrey Whitlow. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 5 P.M. until service time. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.grubbfuneralhome.com Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
