Obituary of Cathy Meadows

Cathy Meadows, age 70, of Wytheville, VA, went home to be with the Lord, November 28 at Bland County Nursing and Rehab. Born May 20, 1954, in Princeton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Fannie Easter White. She grew up in Peterstown, WV, and graduated from Peterstown High School in 1972. Cathy was a member of All Nations Church of God, Wytheville, VA. She received great joy from serving with her All Nations Church family, whether at church, in the community or just one on one. She loved to read, cook and serve others. Her life-time dream and prayer was to be married and have children. She loved her family with all her heart and was thankful everyday to enjoy those blessings God had given her. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren, watching them grow and learn and follow after Jesus Christ. She also enjoyed “gatherings” with family and friends – whether it was a cookout, potluck dinner, grabbing some pizza, having a cup of coffee with a friend or just “porch sitting” together. Those special times of fellowship deepened her relationship with those she loved most and were an incredible blessing from our Abba Father. Cathy was a beloved wife, mother and “Nanny.” She is survived by her husband, Frank Meadows of 51-plus years; Brian Meadows & wife, Lindsay, Statesville, NC; Jennifer Meadows Baker & husband, Ryan, Knoxville, TN; The Light of Cathy’s life was her three grandchildren: Noah Baker, Delaney Baker and Hannah Meadows. Cathy also is survived by two brothers: Glen White & wife, Alice, Covington, VA; Ted White & wife, Pat, Abingdon, VA; Sister-in-Law: Donna Spitler (Frank’s sister that was like a sister); several nieces and nephews and other family members. She had an amazing love for her family and cherished life and special moments with them. Her life was enriched by encouraging others, either by word, actions or prayers. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 7, at All Nations Church of God, 1020 Stafford Umberger Dr., Wytheville, VA, 24382. It will be conducted by Pastor Jim Wentz and also Pastor Craig Caylor. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Nations Church of God, Wytheville, VA, or Pregnancy Resource Center of Southwest Virginia, 708 N. Main St. Suite 200 Blacksburg, Va., 24060.
