Obituary of Jettie Umberger Porter

Jettie Umberger Porter, age 98, of Max Meadows, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Robert & Mary Sharp Umberger and preceded in death by her husband. Hugh Franklin Porter, Sr.; daughter, Lillie Seibold; Grandchildren, Kristen Malmberg, Patricia Ocasio; great-grandchildren, Christopher Crockett, James Davis; great-great grandchild, William Long-Caviness. Jettie is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, William J. & Mary Scott, James & Nancy Scott both of Wytheville, Hugh Franklin Jr. & Donna Porter of Max Meadows; daughters & sons-in-law, Linda & Eric Malmberg of New Jersey, Joyce Ann Davis of Rural Retreat, Bobbi & Roger Napper of Florida, Maybelle Scott of Florida; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by The Reverend Alan Wilder, with interment to follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 noon until service time. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
