Obituary of Stanley Stafford Smith

Stanley Stafford Smith, age 71, of Wytheville, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017. He was the son of the late Jacob & Mary Hoback Smith. Stanley was a United States Marine Veteran, which he was given a Purple Heart and a National defense Medal. He retired from Volvo and was a member of All Nations Church of God, American Legion Post #9 and was preceded in death by 3 brothers. He is survived by his wife, Connie Jones Smith of Wytheville; son, Stanley Jason Smith of Wytheville; sister and brother-in-law, Gennette & Danny Rogers of Richmond; brother, Doug Smith of Wytheville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy & Ray Patton of Max Meadows, Vicki & Robert Ogle of Wytheville, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at All Nations Church of God conducted by Pastor Chad Dunford, with interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The American Legion Post # 9 will conduct Military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 noon until service time at the church.
