Jean Felty Bowles, age 84, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016. Born in Wytheville on May 25, 1931 to late Randolph Trinkle & Willie Spoone Felty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Repass Bowles, and her son Julian (Butchie) Repass Bowles Jr., along with numerous others that have gone before. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James & LaRaine Bowles, Dean Bowles, Dale Bowles; daughter and husband, Becky & David Layman; adopted daughter, Janice Blackwood; brothers and sister-in-law, David Felty, Donald & Barbara Felty, Allen Felty; sister, Patsy Corvin; grandchildren, David & Jenesse Layman, Kimberly & Rob Sawyer, Jonathan & Lanie Bowles, Laura Bowles Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Conner, Ethan & Michael Layman, Bryce Bowles, Collin Bowles, John Jr. Jenkins and Julian Jenkins; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Luke Lutheran Church with Pastor Harvey Atkinson officiating, with interment to follow in West End Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church from 10 AM until service time.
