Obituary of Paul Laymond Barger

With heavy hearts, the family of Paul Laymond Barger announce his passing on January 6, 2018. He was a lifelong cattle and sheep farmer, being the third-generation farmer of Sharon Springs Farm in Ceres, VA. His quick wit and remarkable memory will be missed by all who knew him. Paul was born on December 20, 1929 to John William and Lois Waddle Barger. He was a lifelong member of Red Oak Church Lutheran Congregation serving as Council President for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charleene Simmerman Barger, brother-in-law, Roddy Crabtree, and nephew, Robert Michael Crabtree. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Barger Faulkner and husband C.L.; son William Laymond Barger and wife Debbie; his beloved sister, Anna Crabtree; his adoring grandchildren, Hunter Barger and Stephanie May, Cole Faulkner, Jordan Faulkner; and great-grandson, Grayson May.

 

Funeral service will be held 1 P.M. Wednesday January 10, 2018 at the Red Oak Church in Ceres, conducted by Pastor James Bangle, with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday January 9, 2018 from 6 P.M. to 8P.M.
