Obituary of Frederick Clark Taylor, Sr.

Frederick Clark “Freddie” Taylor, Sr., age 90 passed away Saturday March 3, 2018. He was the son of the late Lawrence Franklin & Roberta Bailey Taylor. He joined First Christian Church in 1947, was on the Wytheville Fire Department for 48 yrs., and on the Wytheville Life Saving Crew 3 yrs. He was preceded in death by his son, Freddie Taylor, Jr.; brothers, Edward Franklin “Eddie” Taylor, Howard Taylor; four sisters, Alma Coppybarger, Carolyn Rupe, Madge Wilcox, and Iona Goff. Freddie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jettie Whisman Taylor of Wytheville; grandson and spouse, Flint & Susie Taylor; great grandson, Davis L. Taylor; great granddaughter; Edin Taylor all of Holly Springs, NC; special sister-in-law, Rachie Guynn; brothers-in-law, Wiley “Pete” Whisman, Thomas “Tom” Whisman; special friends, Susie Hylton, Paul “Smokey” Cornett, Martha Umberger.

Funeral service will be held 2PM Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by The Reverend George Hamm, Wade Whisman, and Chaplin Jason Kline with interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1477 Carrolton Pike, Hillsville, VA  24343.
