Obituary of Velma Nester Roberts

Velma Irene Nester Roberts, age 101 of Wytheville, passed away, Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was the daughter of the late George E. and Mattie Cox Nester and a member of the Wytheville Baptist Church. Velma was preceded in death by her husband, John I Roberts; daughter, Carolyn Roberts Raulf; brothers, James Nester, Sexton Nester, Moir Nester; sisters, Alta Woodfield and Sylvia Bohon. She is survived by her sister, Eula Martin of Hillsville; sister-in-law, Connie Nester of Hillsville; special care giver, Misty King of Wytheville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be 1 PM, Wednesday March 7, 2018, at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Timothy Irving. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 Noon until service time. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Wytheville Baptist Church, 205 Church Street, Wytheville, VA 24382.
