I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine the pain that you are experiencing. However, Jehovah God is someone who always knows how you feel and wants to you bring you comfort and hope. His Word the Bible promises: "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34 verse 18) I hope this brings some measure of comfort to you, knowing you have someone to depend on while you endure the pain.

I worked with Barney for nearly 8 years at Food Country. We didn't get along for much of that, we always have each other a hard time, but I still respected him. The last two years I worked there we got along great, he had softened up and was kinder to me. After I quit and moved away, I would still come for visits into the store to see how he was doing. Hearing of his passing was a shock, he will be missed by many.

Our hearts are broken to hear of the loss of Barney. We have such fond memories when we lived “up on the hill” with you all! Our kids always loved to come down & pet the horses & talk with you guys. I’ll never forget once I couldn’t find Landon anywhere. Went down the road & there he was, riding on the tractor with Barney! We will treasure our precious memories of him always. We love you Sue!

I worked with Barney for 4 years or so at Pic Pac back in the late 90s. He often spoke of his wife and girls. I always enjoyed being around Barney and would often poke my head in the meat department door at Food Country to say hello. He was a great man and I will miss him. So very sorry for your loss.

Barney will be greatly missed by all in the Fort Chiswell community. I had the great pleasure of working along side him for many years and thought the highest of him as a friend & teacher. He always had a smile on his face and would stop whatever he was doing to greet and talk with anyone met. He knew no strangers!!!
