I’m so sorry for your loss. When we lose a loved one, our heart feels the sting of death. Soon, when God’s kingdom is here, we never have to feel that sting again because death will be no more. (Revelations 21:3-4) God, Jehovah, cares for those who fall asleep in death and they are in his memory. In John 5:28-29, we are told that we will see them again and be reunited as a loving family. We are all waiting together as a family. Again I’m sorry for your loss.

I'm so sad to hear this. George was a fantastic person. I worked at WCCH with him 20+ of his 40 years there and he always had a smile for everyone. Even in the super early hours of the old days on 4th floor drawing fasting blood sugars, he was always smiling and laughing. He will be missed by many. Praying for his family and friends.

I had the privilege of knowing George and working with him for a few years at Wytheville Community Hospital. He was always so positive and uplifting and a true friend. George was always there for me in the lab when I needed someone. I will never forget George and how he extended his hand in friendship to all those around him. I cannot think of one person who did not admire George and respect him for all the good things he did to help others. He will truly be missed. Rest in peace my friend.

George Carter Family,
I worked with George for several years while in high school at Martha Washington Inn, Abingdon, VA. .
The summer after I graduated from high school, 3 Employees ( Roger Kennedy, Bobbie Heffner, & I ) were drafted ( they put all 18 year olds in a lottery & 1st. 60 days pulled out were sent draft notices ). Pete Sheffey & George Carter got the other employees together & had a going away party for us at the Inn .... This party meant so very much for the 3 of us, as the War in Viet Nam wasn't popular & men in the military got abuse from people at home who didn't like the War, so this was a great send off for us !!!!!!!!! Years later, Roger Kennedy & I talked about the going away party & how much it meant to us !!!!!!!!!!
I think about George & that red Volkswagen coming in to work at Martha Washington Inn, Abingdon, VA. & always smiling ..........

I am very sorry to hear about George. I enjoyed reading in the obituary the many happy memories and positive things he did in his life. I remember going to the lab often to talk to him. He rarely had time to talk he was so busy. I am also glad I got to stop by the house a few years back and see the things he had talked a lot about which he was going to build. I am glad he got a chance to do that and enjoy it. I am sorry I am not able to come the funeral but I will be thinking about Diane, Charlotte and all the family as you commemorate the great person he was.
Sincerely,
Tom Sims

My Dear Brother George-how I miss you already, can't be expressed here. I visualize you pulling in and saying "Lets go to lunch" as we did many times.
You expressed gratitude to me for doing so many things and showed appreciation for normal friends everyday actions that most people overlooked. Many times I told you that I was only doing things that you would do for me.
We had a great love, respect, and trust for each other that most people will never have in a friendship.
Until we meet again Brother George, find us a good place for lunch-it's my turn to treat you.
