Obituary of Patsy Pritchard Whitman Painter

Patsy Pritchard Whitman Painter, age 98, of Cripple Creek, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 in the same room she was born in on the family farm. She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Rose Vaughan Whitman. Pasty went from attending a one room school to attending Radford College. She was a member of Crockett’s Chapel United Methodist Church and Stuart Wilderness Road DAR. She was a life-long Democrat. She served on numerous committees for farm & civic organizations. She retired from Banking after 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Painter; sisters, Mary Crockett, Lucille Graham, Virginia Delp, Sidney Whitman, and Beth Pratt. Patsy is survived by her daughter, Beth Painter of Cripple Creek, and several other extended family members.

Graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Fleming Cemetery, Cripple Creek. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 7, 2019 any time after 2 P.M. at the Whitman Farm, her lifelong home, 535 Fleming Rd., Wytheville, VA 24382.
