Obituary of Hazel Miller Umberger

Hazel Miller Umberger, age 93, of Wytheville, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019.  She was born in Grayson County, VA on October 17, 1925 to the late William Freel and Lettie Ann Holbrook Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis E. Umberger and a brother Raymond A. Miller and a sister, Francis P. Boyer.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Elwood F. Umberger and fiancé Jeannie Pickle of Wytheville; Edward Lewis and Kathy Umberger of Wytheville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Ronald McCracken Granite Falls, NC; Donna V. and Michael L. Smith of Wytheville; Eva Diaz of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph W. & Sue B. Miller; sister-in-law, Gay A. Miller.

Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Grubb Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery in Wytheville.  The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
